MommityPrivacy Policy
Introduction
Mommity ("we", "us") is a maternal and postnatal health companion for mothers in Cameroon. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, how it is protected, and the choices you have. By using Mommity you agree to this policy.
Data we collect
• Account: name, phone number, email (or Google/Apple ID if you sign in with them); a guest mode is also available. • Pregnancy & health data you provide: last menstrual period, due date, pregnancy history, antenatal (ANC) visits, mood check-ins, symptom (danger-sign) checks, reminders. • Community posts you choose to share. • Approximate location (only while using the Environment dashboard and Emergency map; used live and not stored long-term). • Device push token (to deliver reminders) and basic diagnostics (crash and usage analytics).
How we use your data
• To calculate your pregnancy week and personalise your journey, tips and reminders. • To power the AI companion, danger-sign guidance and weekly content. • To send antenatal-visit and health reminders. • To keep the service safe (content moderation, abuse prevention). We do NOT sell your data, and we do NOT share individual health data for advertising.
Artificial intelligence
AI features use Google's Gemini models through Firebase AI Logic (on-device requests secured with Firebase App Check) and, for server-side moderation, Vertex AI. We do not embed any AI API key in the app. AI guidance is informational only and is not a medical diagnosis.
Processors & storage
We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, App Check, Crashlytics, Analytics) and Google Cloud Vertex AI as data processors. Your data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure and protected in transit and at rest. Some data is cached on your device for offline use; you can clear it from Profile > Settings or by uninstalling the app.
Third-party services
Map and facility data come from OpenStreetMap; weather and air-quality data come from Open-Meteo. These receive only the approximate coordinates needed to answer a request and do not receive your identity.
Data retention
We keep your account and health data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Your rights). Anonymous diagnostics may be retained in aggregate.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at mommity26@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Security
We enforce authentication, Firebase App Check, and Firestore security rules so that your private data is accessible only to you (and, where applicable, verified administrators). No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Mommity is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
We may update this policy and will notify you in-app of significant changes. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
